Louisiana Men’s Tennis Tops Alcorn 4-0

LAFAYETTE, La. — Louisiana’s men’s tennis team beat Alcorn 4-0 Friday at Cajun Courts. The victory improves Louisiana’s record to 7-6 while Alcorn drops to 3-14, according to team sources.

The Ragin’ Cajuns claimed the doubles point by taking two of three matches. David Simeonov and Nikola Kolyachev won at No. 2 doubles, 6-1, over Sebastian Griffiths and Fabian Juarez. Mason Landreth and Leonard Tramolay secured a 6-2 win at No. 1 over Matthew Holl and Vicent Llobell Buigues. The No. 3 doubles match was unfinished with Tomas Grime and Jorge Prats Navarrete competing for Alcorn.

Louisiana quickly built its lead in singles. Tramolay defeated Holl 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2. Gianluca Filoramo earned a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Juarez at No. 6. Darius Balan posted a 6-1, 6-1 win over Grime at No. 4, clinching the match for the hosts. Several matches at Nos. 1, 3, and 5 were left unfinished with Louisiana leading in each.

Alcorn is scheduled to host Troy at Halls Ferry Tennis Courts in Vicksburg, Mississippi, on Sunday, March 22, beginning at 10 a.m. The team encourages fans to follow updates on Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube.
