Longview, Texas — LeTourneau University swept Millsaps College in a three-game series over the weekend at Conrad-Vernon Field. The Yellowjackets won game one 5-4, game two 7-0, and game three 10-5, extending their winning streak against the Majors.
In the series opener, sophomore Wesley Grant led Millsaps with two triples and scored the winning run in the tenth inning. Freshman Thomas Temple contributed two hits, two RBIs, and a stolen base. Redshirt junior Stewart Bonnecaze pitched three innings, allowing three earned runs and striking out two. Jackson Woolley earned his first collegiate win with two scoreless innings.
Millsaps took an early lead in game one, scoring twice in the first inning. LeTourneau responded with three runs, taking a 3-2 lead in the third. The teams exchanged leads until Grant’s leadoff triple in the tenth sealed the victory for the Majors. Despite the loss, Millsaps outhit the Yellowjackets 11-6 in the game.
In game two, LeTourneau’s offense exploded with a six-run rally in the sixth inning, sealing a 7-0 victory. Freshman Hudson Moberly went two for three at the plate, and Thomas Temple added a single and a walk. Junior John Montour pitched five strong innings, allowing only two hits and no earned runs. Millsaps struggled offensively, managing just three hits in the game.
The series concluded with game three, where LeTourneau scored the final six runs, including back-to-back home runs in the sixth inning, to secure a 10-5 win. Senior Mason Morgan led Millsaps with two hits and two RBIs, while Bonnecaze added two hits and a run. Millsaps jumped ahead early but couldn’t hold the lead, as errors and homers by LeTourneau proved decisive.
