Langston Named GSC Freshman of the Week for Baseball

CLINTON, Miss. — Mississippi College freshman catcher Will Langston has been named Gulf South Conference Freshman of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.

Langston hit .429 in four starts, scoring six runs and driving in four. He posted a .500 on-base percentage and an .857 slugging percentage. The Vestavia Hills, Alabama, native hit two home runs in a midweek game against Southern Arkansas and added two walks.

Defensively, Langston recorded 35 putouts with only one error, helping anchor the Choctaws’ pitching staff during a strong week. He is the first MC player to earn a conference freshman award since Gavin LeBlanc on April 19, 2022, and the first MC player to receive a weekly award since JT Vance on April 29, 2025.

Mississippi College returns to action Tuesday, hosting Arkansas-Monticello in non-conference play. First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m.
