Lady Tigers Lose Doubleheader to Lady Warriors

Coahoma Community College’s softball team lost both games in a doubleheader against the Lady Warriors. In the first game, Shingler took the loss for Coahoma, pitching two and two-thirds innings and allowing 12 runs on 12 hits without recording a strikeout. She issued two walks. Riley led Coahoma with two RBIs and went 2-for-3 at the plate. Riley and Cameron each had two hits, and the team drew four walks. The Lady Tigers turned one double play in the game.

In the second game, Benefield was the losing pitcher, tossing six innings and surrendering seven runs, three earned, on six hits. She walked three and struck out no one. Coahoma took an early 3-2 lead in the third inning on singles by Berryhill and Catchings. Wallace, Berryhill, Catchings, and Cameron each had one hit. Catchings drove in two RBIs and went 1-for-2 at the plate. The Lady Tigers’ defense played well during the second game, holding the Lady Warriors to fewer runs.
