Kory Henkes Leads Ole Miss Women’s Golf to Historic Success, Prepares for Homecoming at Darius Rucker Intercollegiate
Kory Henkes, head coach of Ole Miss women’s golf, is preparing her team for the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate in Hilton Head, South Carolina, March 2-4. The event is hosted by her alma mater, the University of South Carolina, and will be televised on Golf Channel.
Henkes, a former All-American at South Carolina, has led Ole Miss to remarkable success since becoming head coach in June 2015. In just under 11 years, her team has won 22 titles and secured 15 individual wins. She also coached seven All-Americans and 11 All-SEC players.
The Rebels claimed their first SEC Championship in 2019, defeating South Carolina 3-2 in match play. Henkes called that victory a milestone that helped put Ole Miss on the map. In 2020, she became the first Ole Miss women’s golf coach to earn SEC Coach of the Year honors.
The 2021 season marked a historic achievement when Henkes led the Rebels to their first NCAA National Championship in women’s golf. The team’s seniors, Julia Johnson and Kennedy Swann, received All-American honors, and Henkes was named WGCA National Coach of the Year.
Henkes continued her success in 2024, guiding Ole Miss to its first NCAA Regional Championship at Bermuda Run. The team shot a program-record 279 (-9) in the final round to clinch the title. The 2025-26 season has started strong, with two consecutive wins and multiple top-10 finishes by players, as the Rebels aim for their eighth straight postseason appearance and fourth NCAA Championship appearance.
Henkes’s journey from SEC player to national champion coach highlights her deep roots in collegiate golf. Her leadership and success continue to elevate Ole Miss women’s golf on the national stage.
