Delta State University guard Kennedee Shelton was named to the Gulf South Conference All-Tournament team, the conference announced this week. Shelton helped lead the Lady Statesmen to their first GSC semifinal appearance since the 2021-22 season.
During postseason play, Shelton led all Lady Statesmen scorers with an average of 14.5 points per game on 12-of-21 shooting from the field. She also averaged 5.5 rebounds per game.
In the quarterfinal win against Valdosta State, Shelton scored a team-high 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting, grabbed three rebounds, and dished out an assist. In the semifinal against Union, she scored 14 points, grabbed eight rebounds, and recorded a steal.
She is the first Lady Statesmen to earn GSC All-Tournament honors since Ke’Vonshaye Stackhouse in 2022, according to the conference.
