Jones College’s Hubbard earns first MACCC Player of the Week honor
Jones College’s Larissa Hubbard has been named the MACCC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, marking her first such honor. The 5-foot-11 sophomore forward from Harrison Central High School posted back-to-back double-doubles last week.
Hubbard scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in a 54-53 loss to Itawamba Community College. She followed that performance with 16 points, 12 rebounds, and four blocked shots in a 66-45 victory over Coahoma Community College.
For the week, Hubbard averaged 18 points, 11 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks per game. This was her fifth and sixth double-double of the season. The Gulfport native was also an NJCAA All-Academic First Team selection as a freshman, according to the school.
