Jones College Extends MACCC Winning Streak with Win Over Mississippi Delta
MOORHEAD, Miss. — No. 17 Jones College extended its winning streak in the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference with a 90-53 victory over Mississippi Delta on Thursday night at J.T. Hall Coliseum.
The Bobcats opened the game with a 7-0 run, highlighted by back-to-back three-pointers from Wesley Lindsey. Jones held the Trojans to just five first-half field goals and built a 49-14 lead at halftime. Braylon Barnes scored 16 of his 22 points in the first half, and Jones shot 52% overall, including 11-for-23 from beyond the arc.
Mississippi Delta trimmed the deficit early in the second half with a 14-2 run, pulling within 51-28. However, Jones responded with three consecutive dunks from Bob Dickson, Keron Jackson, and Dylan Rowe, re-establishing control of the game. Jones also dominated on the boards, holding a 42-26 rebounding advantage.
Barnes and Tyler led the Bobcats with 22 points each. Barnes added nine rebounds, while Tyler dished out six assists. Jackson contributed 11 points and seven rebounds. Several other players, including Jadyn Garrett, Brooks Roberts, Riley Walton, and Kris Carroll, also scored for Jones.
Jordan Comanche led Mississippi Delta with 16 points. Jones improved to 15-5 overall and remains undefeated in conference play at 4-0. The Trojans dropped to 6-11 overall and 0-4 in the MACCC.
