Jones College Bobcats to learn postseason fate Monday on NJCAA Network
The Jones College Bobcats, three-time defending NJCAA Region 23 men’s basketball champions, will find out their postseason destination Monday. The NJCAA Division I Selection Show airs at 5 p.m. CST on NJCAA.org/Network.
The tournament runs March 21-28 at the Hutchinson Sports Arena in Hutchinson, Kansas. Tickets are available online at njcaa.org/tickets. Jones earned an automatic bid after beating No. 25 Itawamba 102-96 in overtime Thursday in Fulton.
Head coach Newton Mealer, in his fifth season, has guided the Bobcats to a 115-39 overall record and three straight NJCAA Region 23 titles. The program had only two titles from 1949 until his arrival. Jones is 6-3 all-time in Hutchinson and is seeking its first national win since 2017. The team is the only Mississippi school to have won the national championship, doing so in the 2013-14 season.
The Bobcats will host a Selection Show Watch Party Monday at 4 p.m. at A.B. Howard Gymnasium. The event is open to the public. Fans can watch the bracket reveal at 5 p.m., enjoy food, and celebrate the team’s achievements. All tournament games will be streamed live on ESPN+, with the national championship game scheduled for Saturday, March 28, at 3 p.m. CT on ESPNU.
