Jackson State’s Ruffin Named SWAC Impact Player of the Week
Jackson State senior guard Daeshun Ruffin has been named the Southwestern Athletic Conference Impact Player of the Week. The award follows his standout performance in two conference games at home.
Ruffin posted double-doubles in both contests, marking his third in conference play. He scored 23 points and matched his career high with 10 assists in the win over Prairie View A&M. He shot 53.3% from the field and 83.3% from the free-throw line, including two three-pointers.
Against Texas Southern, Ruffin scored 25 points and recorded 16 assists, his third consecutive double-double. He shot 47.1% from the floor and made 75% of his free throws. Over the week, he averaged 22.5 points and 13 assists per game, along with two rebounds and two steals per game.
He finished the week with a combined shooting percentage of 50% from the floor and 78.6% from the free-throw line. Ruffin’s efforts helped Jackson State secure two wins and bolster its conference standing.
