Jackson State Women’s Tennis Dominates Mississippi Valley State 5-0

Jackson State’s women’s tennis team defeated Mississippi Valley State 5-0 at home Friday, earning its third win in Southwestern Athletic Conference play.

The Lady Tigers swept doubles matches, with Victoria Linkovski and Helen Hernandez, Paula Corbalan and Isabella Benavides, and Daniela Tovar and Tiara Alvarez all winning 6-0. Hernandez and Alvarez each posted 6-0, 6-0 singles victories, while Benavides and Linkovski also secured straight-set wins to clinch the match.

Hernandez opened singles play with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at the fifth spot, followed by Alvarez’s identical win. Benavides and Linkovski continued the momentum with dominant performances at the fourth and third positions, respectively.

Jackson State will take a break from conference competition to host Dillard on Sunday, March 22, at 2 p.m. The team’s next match will be played at home.
