Jackson State women’s tennis beats XULA 4-1 at home

The Jackson State women’s tennis team earned its second victory of the season with a 4-1 win against Xavier University of Louisiana at home Saturday afternoon.

Victoria Linkovski and Helen Hernandez teamed up to win doubles on court one, 6-2. Paula Corbalan and Isabella Benavides secured the doubles point for the Lady Tigers with a 6-2 win.

The Lady Tigers carried their momentum into singles play, with Hernandez and Mariia Iordanova recording quick wins at Nos. 5 and 2, respectively. Linkovski sealed the victory for Jackson State, winning her match 6-0, 7-6 (4).

Jackson State will travel to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to face Southern and Alabama State in its first SWAC matches of the season on March 7 and 8. The team’s fans can follow updates on social media or visit the official athletics website for more information.
