Jackson State Tennis Earns Victory Despite Loss to New Orleans
JACKSON, Miss. — Helen Hernandez led Jackson State’s tennis team with a singles victory against the University of New Orleans on Wednesday afternoon. Hernandez defeated Danique Vermue 6-4, 6-3 at the No. 4 singles position.
Victoria Linkovski pushed her opponent, Kate Kalistratova, to three sets before falling 2-6, 6-1, 2-6. In doubles action, Tiara Alvarez and Daniela Tovar secured a 6-4 win over Ananya Dhankhar and Naila Krifa.
The Tigers will travel to Hattiesburg to face Southern Miss on Friday, February 13, at 2 p.m., in their next match, according to team officials.
