The Tigers scored five more runs in the second, with Ariana Murillo and Almaraz contributing key hits.

Mississippi Valley State attempted a rally, scoring in four different innings, including a three-run fifth. Despite the late push, Jackson State’s pitchers held the visitors scoreless over the final two innings to secure the win. Brooklyn Morris earned the complete-game victory, allowing six runs on nine hits.

The Tigers continued their offensive dominance in the second game, scoring in every inning and totaling 15 hits. Jace Jackson’s two-RBI triple sparked the offense, with contributions from multiple players. Jackson State took an early 5-0 lead and maintained pressure, eventually securing the run-rule victory after five innings.

Mississippi Valley State managed four runs on four hits in the second game but was unable to slow Jackson State’s offense. The Devilettes were limited to four hits and struggled defensively, committing one error. Jackson State’s balanced attack and early scoring proved decisive in the sweep.

Jackson State will next travel to Montgomery, Alabama, to face Alabama State in a weekend series beginning Friday at 3 p.m., according to the university.
