Jackson State Releases 2026 Softball Schedule
Jackson State University unveiled its 2026 softball schedule Thursday. The season includes 23 non-conference matchups and a home tournament to open the season, according to the athletics department.
The Tigers finished the 2025 regular season with a 29-25 record and a 15-9 mark in the Southwestern Athletic Conference. They finished second in the conference standings before winning their second consecutive SWAC Championship with a 3-1 victory over Florida A&M.
Jackson State participated in the NCAA Regionals last year, facing Alabama and Belmont in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The 2026 season kicks off with the River City Classic at JSU Softball Field, where the Tigers will host Arlington Baptist on Feb. 6. They will also play Dallas Christian College and Alcorn State on Feb. 7 at Key City Park in Vicksburg, Mississippi, and close the event against Grambling State on Feb. 8.
Following the opening tournament, JSU will travel to Belhaven for a midweek game on Feb. 11. The Tigers then compete in the East Texas A&M Tournament, facing Missouri State and Southeast Missouri on Feb. 13, Rhode Island and East Texas A&M on Feb. 14, and Marist on Feb. 15. They will host Belhaven for another midweek game Feb. 18 before heading to Montgomery, Alabama, for the HBCU Classic, which begins Feb. 21 with South Carolina State and Alcorn State. The tournament concludes Feb. 22 with Lincoln (Pa.) and Claflin.
Jackson State will participate in the three-day Eagle Hub City Classic hosted by Southern Miss from Feb. 27 to March 1, facing Morehead State, Chattanooga, and the host team Southern Miss. The Tigers open SWAC play at home against Florida A&M on March 6-7. They will also host Nicholls on March 11 and travel to Alabama A&M for a weekend series March 13-14.
The team returns home to face Bethune-Cookman on March 20-21, then hosts Memphis for a midweek game March 25. Conference play resumes with Mississippi Valley State at home March 27-28, followed by a road trip to Montgomery to face Alabama State on April 3-4. The Tigers host Alcorn State on April 7 and travel to Daytona Beach, Florida, for games against Bethune-Cookman on April 10-11. They will also host Alabama A&M on April 17-18 and conclude the regular season with a trip to Florida A&M on April 24-25.
