Jackson State Falls to Northwestern State in Tennis Match

Northwestern State defeated Jackson State 5-2 Thursday afternoon at Jack Fisher Lady Demon Complex in Natchitoches, Louisiana.

In singles play, junior Paula Corbalan earned a victory at the top spot, beating her opponent 6-2, 2-6, 6-2. Tiara Alvarez also secured a win for the Tigers, defeating Lolita Hukasian 6-3, 6-2. Jackson State (0-3) earned two points from these matches.

Isabella Benavides competed in a tightly contested three-set match against Martina Acebedo Bonocore. She lost 5-7, 7-5, 10-8 in the final set.

The Tigers are scheduled to host their home opener Tuesday, Feb. 3, at the JSU Tennis Center.
