Jackson State Athletes Win Three Titles at Bulldog Open

Jackson State University athletes claimed three individual titles at the Samford Bulldog Open in Birmingham, Alabama, on Saturday. Kaylin Jackson won the women’s 800-meter run with a time of 2:20.20, according to school officials.

Rickey Green III secured victories in both the preliminary and final rounds of the men’s 60-meter hurdles, posting times of 8.27 and 8.16 seconds. The latter marked a personal best for the sophomore, the school said.

Dalon Harris added a first-place finish for the Tigers in the men’s shot put with a throw of 15.48 meters. Several athletes also set personal bests, including Janiza Wright in the 60-meter dash, Connor Cooper and Kayla Williams in the 60-meter hurdles, and others in distance and weight throw events, according to the university.
