Jackson Skinner Leads Mississippi State After Opening Round at Watersound Invitational

Panama City Beach, Florida — Jackson Skinner shot a 6-under 64 in the first round of the Watersound Invitational, leading Mississippi State and tying for seventh in the individual standings, according to the tournament organizers.

The true freshman’s round was his best of the season and included four birdies and an eagle, with no bogeys. His score is the seventh-best in program history. Garrett Endicott posted a 3-under 67, his third sub-70 round of the season, and is tied for sixth overall.

Dain Richie carded a 74, overcoming a rough start with four birdies in his final 10 holes. He is tied for 47th at 2-over. Drew Wilson finished at 3-over, while Ugo Malcor shot a 7-over 77 to complete the Bulldogs’ team lineup. Ben Kelling led individual players with a 1-under 69, marking his first collegiate sub-70 round.

Mississippi State opened the tournament tied for fourth place with Florida State, both shooting 276. Arkansas leads with a 269 score. The Bulldogs will start the second round with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. CT. Live results are available on SCOREBOARD.
