Hinds Softball Sweeps SEARK in Doubleheader, Moves to 12-3

The Hinds Community College softball team dominated Southeast Arkansas College on February 21, earning an 8-0 shutout in game one and a 14-5 run-rule victory in game two at home in Raymond, Mississippi.

In the first game, Hinds set the pace early and scored in four of five innings. Addison Galloway led off the offense, while Aubrie Carter and Alyx Hall contributed RBI singles. Emma Hudson had two hits and an RBI, and Jalia McDaniel added a key RBI. Pitcher Jazmin Robertson threw five shutout innings, allowing six hits and striking out three.

The Lady Eagles maintained their momentum in game two, scoring 14 runs on 13 hits. They scored three runs in the first inning, then added four in both the third and fourth innings. Jalia McDaniel scored four runs and drove in one, while Alyx Hall hit a home run with two RBIs. Emma Hudson contributed three RBIs, and Addison Galloway and Aubrie Carter added multiple hits and RBIs. The team also showcased aggressive base running, swiping multiple bags.

On the mound, Mattie Gibson earned the win with six strikeouts over three innings. Abigail McLean closed the game, helping secure the run-rule victory. Hinds will next face Lamar State College on February 27 at Rene T. Warren Field, with first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m.
