Hinds Men’s Basketball Secures First Conference Win With 104-73 Victory Over East Central

The Hinds Community College men’s basketball team earned its first conference victory of the season with a 104-73 win over East Central Community College on Saturday in Utica, Mississippi.

The Bulldogs set the tone early and maintained control throughout the game. They led 51-39 at halftime and opened the second half with a surge that widened the gap. Hinds shot 60.3% from the field and made 24 of 30 free throws.

Austin Ratliff led all scorers with 25 points, shooting 10-of-15 from the floor and adding seven rebounds. Daevon Henry provided a spark off the bench with 16 points and five rebounds, going 6-for-6 from the free-throw line. Colain Brown contributed 18 points and six assists, while Jayden Bowie scored 13 points and recorded three steals.

Abubakar Cham controlled the paint with 10 points and a team-high 11 rebounds, helping Hinds dominate the boards 41-30. The Bulldogs also shared the ball effectively, finishing with 21 assists on 38 made field goals.
