Hinds Baseball Completes Road Sweep of Meridian with Two Close Wins

The Hinds Community College baseball team secured a doubleheader sweep at Meridian Community College on Wednesday, winning 12-7 and 11-10. The Eagles used strong offensive performances and solid pitching to come out on top in both games.

In the first game, Hinds took control early with an offensive attack and effective pitching. The team finished with 11 hits, led by Ethan Keen, who drove in three runs and homered. RJ Brown added two hits and two RBIs, while Brody Breithaupt went 3-for-5 with two RBIs. Starting pitcher Brady Griffin earned the win, tossing six innings and striking out two while allowing four runs. The bullpen held off Meridian late to secure the victory.

The nightcap was a high-scoring affair, with Hinds finishing with 14 hits. Keen continued his hot streak with three hits, two RBIs, and another homer. Breithaupt contributed three hits and three RBIs, and Tanner Alhinai added a homer as the designated hitter. Hinds built an early lead, including a five-run second inning, but Meridian responded to keep the game close. Charles Chisolm earned the win in relief, shutting down Meridian in the final innings. RJ Brown and KyIan Landers also contributed multiple hits for the Eagles.
