Gina Jenkins Named Faculty Athletic Representative at Delta State
Delta State University announced Monday that Dr. Gina Jenkins has been appointed as its Faculty Athletics Representative, effective immediately.
Senior Executive Associate Athletic Director Dana George expressed enthusiasm for Jenkins’ new role, highlighting her commitment to academic excellence and student-athlete success. George said Jenkins’ leadership, integrity, and passion for education will strengthen the connection between academics and athletics at DSU.
Jenkins earned her Bachelor of Science in General Studies from Delta State in 1997, a master’s degree in communicative disorders from the University of Mississippi in 1999, and completed a Doctor of Education in Professional Studies at DSU in 2024. She currently serves as an instructor and coordinator in speech and hearing sciences at Delta State.
She has previously worked as an instructor at DSU from 2002 to 2008 and served as department chair before the university’s academic restructuring. A licensed speech-language pathologist, Jenkins has more than 25 years of experience working with children with communication disorders, including roles with the Cleveland School District, Therapy Innovations, Inc., and private practice.
Jenkins expressed her eagerness to serve in the new role, saying she looks forward to supporting DSU student-athletes.
