Ethan Keen Sets BBCOR Home Run Record as Hinds Sweeps Mississippi Delta
MOORHEAD, Miss. — The Hinds Community College baseball team swept Mississippi Delta CC in a doubleheader on Saturday, winning 19-4 and 12-8. The Eagles showcased strong offense and pitching in both games.
In the first game, Hinds scored seven runs in the second inning and continued to pile on, finishing with 19 runs on 14 hits. Lane Almond led the offensive surge with two home runs and eight RBIs. Brody Breithaupt contributed four RBIs, and Tanner Alhinai added two doubles. Aiden Melna earned the win on the mound, allowing one run over three innings with five strikeouts. The bullpen of Amzie Cochran, Cooper Loftin, and Thomas Nichols closed out the game.
The nightcap was more competitive, but Hinds secured the victory with key hits and timely pitching. Ethan Keen led the offense with two home runs and five RBIs, including his 18th homer of the season, setting the school record for home runs in the BBCOR era. Keen also scored three runs. RJ Brown crossed the plate three times, while Ryder Molea and Tanner Alhinai contributed multiple hits. Cole Stumph pitched 2.2 scoreless innings to earn the win, shutting down late Delta rallies.
