Delta State University Inducts 2026 Hall of Fame Class
Delta State University inducted its Hall of Fame Class of 2026 on Friday in E.R. Jobe Auditorium, recognizing achievements across softball, football, baseball, and swimming and diving.
Coach Glenn Davis, a 1981 graduate and former football player, was honored for his coaching career, including 21 years leading the Copiah-Lincoln football team. Davis led the Wolves to four MACJC state runner-up finishes and won the 2012 MACJC state title. He was named MACJC Coach of the Year four times and MACCC South Coach of the Year in 2023.
Cedrick Matthews, a former basketball guard, was recognized for his all-conference honors in 1995 and 1996. He was named the league’s co-MVP in 1996 and ranks seventh in school history for three-pointers.
Jeff McClaskey, who played baseball at Delta State under coach Dave Ferriss, was celebrated for his 31-year coaching tenure at Northwest Rankin High School, where he earned national and state coaching awards in 2005.
Alyce Meador Marshburn, a standout swimmer from 2008 to 2011, was named Most Valuable Swimmer in 2011 and earned All-American honors in 2009 and 2010. She set conference records in multiple events and ranks highly in school history for her times.
John Polles, a five-season baseball player, received recognition for his all-region honors and ranking among school leaders in appearances, strikeouts, and wins. Brad Radford, a swimmer from 1997 to 2001, earned multiple All-American honors and set conference records in 1998.
Samantha St. Hilaire Pirruccello, who pitched for the Lady Statesmen from 2005 to 2008, was a four-time All-Gulf South Conference selection and holds several school records for pitching performances. Jimmy Wilson, a linebacker from 1987 to 1990, was a two-time All-GSC selection and ranks first in single-season tackles.
