Delta State Baseball and Tennis Season Openers Postponed Due to Weather

The season openers for Delta State University’s baseball and tennis teams have been postponed due to bad weather this weekend, according to school officials.

The Delta State tennis team’s match against the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith, scheduled for Sunday in Memphis, has been delayed. A new date has not yet been announced.

Both the Statesmen and Lady Statesmen tennis teams are expected to return to action Feb. 12 in Richardson, Texas, when they face the University of Texas at Dallas Comets.

Additionally, Monday and Tuesday’s baseball games against Harding University have been postponed. The rescheduled dates are also to be determined.

The baseball team is set to open its 2026 season on the road Feb. 6, with a three-game series against Spring Hill College’s Badgers starting at 5 p.m. Central Time.
