Delta State Announces Spring Football Practice Schedule

Delta State University football coach David Dean has announced the schedule for the spring practice season, set to begin March 18. All practices will be open to the public.

The team, coming off a 7-3 record in 2025, is under new leadership as Dean begins his tenure as the 20th head coach in program history. Dean expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming practices, praising the players’ work ethic and enthusiasm.

“I am really excited to get started with these young men in spring practice. Over the past month I have been impressed not only with their work ethic but also their enthusiasm every day,” Dean said. “This team seems to be hungry for success and they push each other every day to achieve greatness. I think this is going to be a very fun group of guys to coach and I look forward to finally seeing them perform on the football field.”

The practice schedule includes sessions through April 16, culminating in a spring game scheduled for that evening. The full schedule features practices with helmets, shells, and full contact, along with two scrimmages and the spring game.

Practices will be held at various times, beginning at 3:30 p.m. on weekdays and earlier on weekends, with the spring game scheduled for 7 p.m. on April 16. Warmups for the spring game will start at 6 p.m.
