Cotie McMahon Named SEC Player of the Week for Second Time in Three Weeks
Ole Miss women’s basketball star Cotie McMahon has been named the Southeastern Conference Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday. This is her second weekly honor in three weeks and her ninth overall.
McMahon, a senior forward, has been a consistent force this season. She has scored in double figures in all but one game and surpassed 20 points 11 times. Last week, she led the SEC and ranked fourth nationally in points per game. She also led the conference in rebounds per contest, according to the SEC.
Her standout performance came against Missouri, where she scored a season-high 33 points with 12 rebounds in an 82-61 victory. McMahon added five assists and two blocks. She scored 24 of her points in the second half, shooting 9-for-13 from the field. Her 33 points were the most by an Ole Miss player since Marquesha Davis’s outing against Florida in March 2024. McMahon also became the first Rebel to score 30 points this season and the first since Madison Scott.
In all four games with a double-double this season, another Rebel has also achieved one. McMahon’s performance helped solidify Ole Miss’s standing in the SEC. She has also received recognition from the conference previously, including Big Ten Freshman of the Week and Big Ten Player of the Week honors in earlier seasons.
Ole Miss fans can catch McMahon and the Rebels in upcoming games, with ticket sales for the 2025-26 season now underway. The team is active on social media, including X, Facebook, and Instagram, with head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin also engaging followers online.
