Centenary beats Millsaps 12-2 in Tuesday baseball game

SHREVEPORT, La. — The Millsaps College baseball team fell to Centenary College 12-2 Tuesday at Shehee Stadium.

Junior Wesley Grant highlighted the game with a home run, two RBIs, and two stolen bases. Senior EJ Ousley collected two hits and made three assists from shortstop. Junior Dylan Welter pitched an inning and a third without allowing a hit and struck out one batter.

Centenary scored early, taking a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first. Millsaps responded in the second, when Grant scored on a balk after stealing second and third to tie the game at 1-1. The Gents then scored on a bases-loaded walk, followed by two more runs to lead 4-1.

The game remained quiet until the sixth inning, when Centenary increased its lead to 10-1. Millsaps cut into the deficit in the seventh with a solo home run by Grant, making it 10-2. Centenary added two more runs in the eighth, including a home run, to seal the 12-2 victory.
