St. Simons Island, Georgia — Blue Mountain Christian’s men’s golf team finished fourth at the Coastal Georgia Winter Invite, competing against a highly ranked NAIA field. The tournament featured 17 teams, including No. 2 Reinhardt, No. 8 Ave Maria, No. 12 Coastal Georgia, No. 14 OUAZ, and No. 15 Webber International.

Playing on a par-72 course stretching 7,014 yards, the Toppers were led by Simon Meiby, who tied for fifth place. Meiby shot rounds of 73, 75 and 70 for a total of 218, closing with a final-round 70. His performance helped the team stand out against top national programs, according to coach Kevin Barefield.

Alex Nordstrom also finished in the top 10, tying for seventh at 220 after rounds of 72, 72 and 76. Acen Lambert contributed with a tie for 13th place, shooting a 69 in the second round, part of his 75-69-78 effort for 222 overall. Damil Ataullah tied for 27th at 226, and Cobey Riddle finished in 57th with a total of 234.

Coach Barefield praised his team’s performance, emphasizing their competitiveness on a championship-length course. “I’m really proud of how our guys competed from start to finish,” he said. “This was a strong, nationally ranked field on a championship-caliber course, and we proved we can play with anyone. Simon closing with a 70 was big-time, and having multiple guys in the top 15 shows the depth we’re building. This is the standard we want to compete at.”

Blue Mountain demonstrated depth, composure and resilience against some of the top teams in the country. The individual performances reinforce the team’s presence among competitive NAIA programs as the season progresses.
