Blue Mountain Christian Finishes Eighth at BMCU Spring Classic

WEST POINT, Miss. — Blue Mountain Christian finished eighth among 12 teams at the BMCU Spring Classic, held Monday and Tuesday at Old Waverly Golf Course. The tournament featured three NAIA Top 10 programs and another team ranked inside the Top 25, according to the school.

Morgan Dabbs led the Toppers, tying for 24th place with a total score of 247. She improved each round, closing with a 76 in the final round. Her scores were 86, 85, and 76 over the three days.

Abby Gattis was the next best performer, finishing with a total of 263 after rounds of 92, 91, and 80. She notably shaved 11 strokes off her opening round. Erin Porter finished 47th with a total score of 277, posting rounds of 90, 99, and 88. Adina Ataullah finished 48th with a total of 279 after rounds of 102, 87, and 90.

Other Toppers included Abby Moore, who placed 53rd with a total score of 298, and Ayla Stowe, who finished 58th with a 369. Jenna Hall rounded out the team in 59th place with a 374 total.

Blue Mountain Christian head coach Kevin Barefield praised his team’s performance. “This was a really strong field and a great test for our group,” he said. “Old Waverly demands focus and discipline, and I was proud of how our players kept competing and continued to improve. Morgan finishing strong in her final round really showed the growth we’re looking for as we build consistency.”

The tournament provided valuable experience on a respected course against a nationally competitive field as the Toppers continue their spring season.
