Arkansas-Pine Bluff Women Defeat Mississippi Valley State 68-48
The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff women’s basketball team defeated Mississippi Valley State 68-48 on Tuesday at H.O. Clemmons Arena in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. The Golden Lions improved to 12-14 overall and 9-7 in Southwestern Athletic Conference play, while the Devilettes fell to 6-21 and 5-11 in conference.
Jaeda Murphy led Mississippi Valley State in rebounding, assists, and steals. She tied her career high with eight rebounds, scored eight points, dished four assists, and stole three possessions, according to the school. Ariel Jefferson also contributed defensively with three steals, a season high, and added six points and a blocked shot.
Kylah McCullers was the top scorer for Mississippi Valley State, finishing with 10 points. Keanna Coburn recorded the Devilettes’ only blocked shot in the game. The Golden Lions have won two consecutive games, while Mississippi Valley State’s last victory was on March 1, 2025, when they defeated the same team 78-48.
