Alcorn Women’s Basketball Hosts Jackson State in Key SWAC Matchup
Alcorn State University will host Jackson State University on Saturday at the Davey L. Whitney Complex in Lorman, Mississippi, in a Southwestern Athletic Conference women’s basketball game. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m., and the game marks the return of a series that has seen recent competitive matchups.
Earlier this season, Alcorn edged Jackson State 49-45 in Jackson. Kiarra Henderson led the Braves with 19 points, four assists and three rebounds, helping secure the win. Alcorn enters the game with a 14-10 overall record and an 11-2 mark in SWAC play, while Jackson State stands at 8-17 overall and 6-7 in conference.
The teams are meeting for the 25th time, with Alcorn winning two of the last three. The last time the Braves defeated the Tigers in Lorman was February 2017. Jackson State holds a recent edge in the series, but Alcorn aims to even the odds in Saturday’s matchup.
