Alcorn State Women’s Basketball Game Postponed Due to Winter Weather
The Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) women’s basketball game between Alcorn State and Grambling State scheduled for Thursday evening has been postponed due to winter weather, according to school officials.
The game will now be played as part of a doubleheader featuring both men’s and women’s teams on Monday, Feb. 2. The women’s game is set to tip off at 5 p.m., Alcorn State said.
Heavy snow and ice affected the Grambling, Louisiana, area, leading to the cancellation of classes at Grambling State University until further notice. Alcorn State’s campus in Lorman, Mississippi, was also closed Monday due to icy conditions in southwest Mississippi.
Alcorn State encourages fans to follow its sports social media accounts for updates. The school’s Twitter handle is @BravesSports, and it also maintains accounts on Instagram and YouTube under @AlcornSports and Braves Sports Network, respectively.
