Alcorn Men’s Basketball Looks to Continue Hot Streak in Texas Swing

Alcorn State men’s basketball travels to Texas for back-to-back SWAC games against Texas Southern and Prairie View A&M this week. The Braves, coming off a win over Jackson State, look to extend their winning streak and improve their conference record.

The team hosts Texas Southern on Thursday at the Houston Health & Physical Education Arena. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m., and fans can watch the game on TXSO YouTube or listen on WPRL-FM 91.7. In the matchup with Prairie View A&M, Alcorn holds a narrow 18-17 series advantage, winning the last five meetings. The Panthers, at 11-17 overall, have a solid home record but struggle on the road. They are led by Dontae Horne, who averages 19.4 points overall and 23.8 in SWAC play, and Tai’Reon Joseph, who averages 20.6 points per game overall.
