Biggersville fights back to win a thriller

It started out as a one sided game to begin with. Tyshun Willis caught the first touchdown of the game from Terrelle Smith. Biggersville would quickly answer back with a touchdown pass from Drew Rowsey to Gunn. The first quarter ended with Velma Jackson up 21-7 over Biggersville.

The second quarter is where Biggersville found their spark. Brooks Seago caught a beautiful pass from Rowsey with 4:32 left in the first half maming the score 21-14. Gavin Griffin and Velma Jackson struck back fast making the score 27-14.

Biggersville got the ball back and pushed it down the field very fast. Right before the half, Rowsey found Jayce Taylor for six. Going into the half, the score was 28-27 and Biggersville had took their first lead.

The second half started out with Velma Jackson scoring first. Gavin Griffin scored his fourth touchdown of the game.

Drew Rowsey was pushing his team the whole way. He never let them give up. He was a big factor in them winning this game.

“We needed that win,” said Rowsey. “Everybody was on their last string,” he said jokingly. “Our team fought hard to the very end. It was just incredible. We saw on the film that they like to send pressure from the end. We knew the slant route would be there all game.”

Biggersville did a great job of making sure they stayed in the game. They never let up.

“I told my guys keep fighting,” said Ingram. “We were never out of the game. Drew is a senior. He got hurt when we were here in 2020. Tonight he stepped up big!”
