Life University tops Blue Mountain in SSAC women’s basketball

Marietta, Ga. — Blue Mountain Christian University’s women’s basketball team lost to Life University 73-55 Thursday night at the Eagles’ Nest in Marietta, Georgia. The Toppers played competitively early, trading baskets with the Running Eagles in the first quarter before Life gained a slight advantage.

Blue Mountain settled into the game offensively in the second quarter, working the ball inside and battling for rebounds to stay within reach at halftime. Life created separation after the break, using a strong third-quarter run to extend its lead. The Toppers continued to fight defensively and looked for scoring opportunities down the stretch.

Despite their effort, Life’s efficiency in the final period helped secure the victory. Maddie Kirk led Blue Mountain with 17 points. McKenzie Williams posted a double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds, while Isabella Carlson contributed four assists and five rebounds. Dominique Collins scored six points off the bench.

The Toppers will return to action next week when they host the Thomas Nighthawks at Tyler Gymnasium.
