Ingomar makes 4th straight appearance in title game with win over Richton
The Lady Falcons are back in the title game.
Ingomar built a double-digit cushion in the first half and withstood a late charge from Richton High School to secure a 55-47 win in girls action Monday, March 2, 2026.
Ingomar set the tone early, taking a 16-11 lead after the first quarter behind efficient shooting and balanced scoring. The Lady Falcons extended the margin in the second period, outscoring Richton 15-10 to carry a 31-21 advantage into halftime.
Richton responded in the third quarter, putting together a 17-point frame to keep the pressure on, but Ingomar matched the surge with 18 points of its own to maintain control at 49-38 heading into the final period. Richton edged Ingomar 9-6 in the fourth quarter, but the early deficit proved too much to overcome.
Peyton Wray led Ingomar with 18 points on 6-of-10 shooting and a perfect 6-for-6 effort at the free-throw line, adding seven rebounds and three steals. Bella Phifer followed with 14 points, knocking down three 3-pointers and grabbing seven rebounds. Tyrani Jones added nine points, while Daylen Grisham contributed eight. Ingomar finished 20-of-41 from the field and recorded 12 assists as a team.
Richton was paced by Rakhiya Moody and Nylah Robins, who each scored 15 points. Moody added eight rebounds and went 6-of-10 at the line, while Robins connected on two 3-pointers. Dherria Barlow chipped in eight points. Richton converted 15 of 25 free throws and pulled down 32 rebounds but shot 14-of-46 from the field overall.
With the win, Ingomar relied on its strong first-half execution and steady production across the first three quarters to secure the eight-point victory.
