Lynch new Mississippi Delta CC baseball coach
Ayg. 4, 2025 – Mississippi Delta Community College has tapped former Southern Miss standout Danny Lynch as the new head coach of the Trojan baseball team for the upcoming 2025-2026 season.
Lynch comes to MDCC after serving as the director of hitting and infield development at the University of Southern Mississippi during the 2024-2025 season. He was promoted to that position following a year as a graduate assistant with the Golden Eagles, helping guide the program to a regional host spot in 2025 and a conference championship in 2024. In both roles, he played a key part in developing Southern Miss’ infielders and hitters.
A highly decorated player at Southern Miss, Lynch was a mainstay on the field from 2018 to 2023. He helped the Golden Eagles reach four consecutive NCAA regionals and played a crucial role in hosting the 2022 Hattiesburg Regional. He also contributed to three conference championships during his collegiate career and served as team captain in 2022 and 2023. Both of those teams hosted Super Regionals—the first in school history.
Lynch leaves Southern Miss as the program’s all-time leader in games played.
Mississippi Delta officials expressed excitement about what Lynch brings to the Trojans as a player, coach, and proven leader.
