Carruth’s Late TD Lifts Belhaven Past Methodist
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Belhaven quarterback Matthew Dial completed all six passes on a 90-yard drive capped by Cannon Carruth’s 14-yard touchdown catch with 1:14 remaining Saturday, lifting the Blazers to a 20-15 win over Methodist.

Completions to Kaleb Browning and Carruth set up third-and-2 before Locastro gained seven yards to extend the drive. Dial connected with Carruth on the next snap for the go-ahead score.
Methodist had a final chance, starting at its 29 with 1:09 to play. After a nine-yard gain by Asa Windham, Jimmy Byrd and Tre Chaffier sacked the quarterback for a seven-yard loss. Windham’s fourth-down pass was incomplete with 29 seconds left, and Belhaven ran out the clock.
