Northwest men’s basketball to host tryouts

Each participant will need to bring a copy of an updated physical and proper basketball attire.

If necessary, the Rangers and Eagles will face off Sunday in a winner-take-all Game 3, scheduled for a 2 P.M. first pitch.

Postseason competition is scheduled to begin May 3-5, with the Rangers expected to host a first-round best-of-three playoff series.

In all, 17 of coach James Beattie’s Northwest student-athletes have moved on to compete at the four-year level.

The Lady Rangers finished the regular season with a 7-6 overall record and a 4-5 mark in the MACCC.

Northwest is one of four MACCC teams represented in this week’s edition of the rankings.

Northwest men earned 330 team points, placing fourth out of 10 teams.

Rangers play at Co-Lin this weekend.

This is the Lady Rangers fourth appearance in the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament in the last five seasons.

Both players are the first to receive conference player of the week honors for Northwest baseball and softball.
