Green retires, Weatherspoon new men’s basketball coach at Meridian

Weatherspoon’s coaching career includes serving as an assistant coach for the Jones College Bobcats for the past two years

The Olive Branch native was the only honoree at third base and one of just nine winners overall among NJCAA Division II members.

Grzanich led the Lady Eagles to the Region 23 Semifinal tournament on the campus of Copiah-Lincoln.

Each participant will need to bring a copy of an updated physical and proper basketball attire.

If necessary, the Rangers and Eagles will face off Sunday in a winner-take-all Game 3, scheduled for a 2 P.M. first pitch.

Postseason competition is scheduled to begin May 3-5, with the Rangers expected to host a first-round best-of-three playoff series.

In all, 17 of coach James Beattie’s Northwest student-athletes have moved on to compete at the four-year level.

The Lady Rangers finished the regular season with a 7-6 overall record and a 4-5 mark in the MACCC.
