Zach Johnson Named SLIAC Hitter of the Week

Columbus, Miss. — Zach Johnson, a senior outfielder at Mississippi University for Women, was named the SLIAC Hitter of the Week, the conference announced Monday. The award recognizes his performance during games played from Feb. 23 to March 1, 2026.

Johnson batted .625 over two games last week, going 5-for-9 at the plate. He drove in nine runs, scored four times, and homered in both contests. He also added a triple to his collection of hits.

His on-base percentage was .556, and he posted a slugging percentage of 1.625. On the season, Johnson is batting .389 with a .395 on-base percentage and a .667 slugging percentage through eight games.

Johnson stands 6 feet 6 inches tall and plays both outfield and first base for MUW, according to the release.
