William Carey Women’s Golf Wins Ram Spring Invite

The William Carey women’s golf team won the Ram Spring Invite, opening its spring schedule with a wire-to-wire victory. The Lady Crusaders posted rounds of 302, 291, and 306, finishing with a total score of 899.

Taamtond Nivasananda led the team early, shooting a 74 to lead after the first round. Gracie Bloom was close behind with a 75. Aiden Haithcock opened with a 76, and Gracelyn Cooley posted a 77. Pattaramon Ruangrung and Kenley Archer each shot 78 to round out the first round.

The team improved significantly in the second round, lowering its team score by 11 strokes. Nivasananda maintained her lead with a 73, while Haithcock shot the low round of the tournament with a 71, tying for first place. Ruangrung added a 72, and Cooley improved her score from the first round.

In the final round, Nivasananda secured her first collegiate victory, finishing at 3-over par and winning by three strokes. Ruangrung earned all-tournament honors with a 76 to finish third. Haithcock was fourth and also received all-tournament recognition. Cooley and Bloom tied for fifth, each earning all-tournament honors, while Archer finished tied for ninth.

The Lady Crusaders will compete next Monday, March 16, at the Firehawk Collegiate in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. The event is hosted by UT Southern at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at The Shoals.
