The William Woods University women’s and men’s track and field teams will compete Friday and Saturday at the 2026 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Indoor Championships, hosted by Principia College in Elsah, Illinois.
MUW Head Coach Dedrick Burnett, now in his fifth season, expressed optimism ahead of the meet. “We’re excited to compete in another indoor championship meet,” Burnett said. “I’m looking forward to seeing the results of our hard work that started in the fall. We’re expecting to have a strong showing in the field events and sprints.”
On the women’s side, sophomore Brooklyn Kelley, an all-SLIAC finisher last year, is favored to defend her shot put title, where she ranks second entering the meet. She also sits sixth in the weight throw. Junior Arie’Onna McCollum is fifth in the shot put rankings. The women’s 4×400 meter relay team, consisting of Armoni King, Princess Lofton, Cassidy Talley, and Kamiyah Whiting, is ranked second in the conference. Sinegal stands third in the women’s triple jump, while Talley is eighth in the 60-meter dash.
For the men’s team, freshman Malachi Morgan is the top contender. Morgan, a two-time SLIAC Performer of the Week, leads the league in both the high jump (1.99 meters) and long jump (6.86 meters). The men’s 4×400 relay team, featuring Bryson Boler, Cortland Earl, Noel Kellum, and Jarvis Sellers, is ranked third. Other notable male athletes include Morgan, who is seventh in the 60-meter dash, and Earl, fifth in the 60-meter hurdles.
