UNO Women’s Tennis Defeats Alcorn in Non-Conference Match
The University of New Orleans women’s tennis team defeated Alcorn State 4-0 Thursday in a non-conference match at Hall’s Ferry Tennis Court in Vicksburg, Mississippi, according to UNO officials.
UNO claimed the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles, while the No. 1 doubles match was unfinished with UNO leading 4-1. UNO’s Fleur Sprengers and Danique Vermue secured the victory over Alcorn’s Zoe Crimmel and Oihane Villanueva Lopez in straight sets, 6-0.
In singles play, UNO extended its lead with victories from Sprengers at No. 1, Khaled at No. 3, and Dhankhar at No. 6. Sprengers defeated Tatafu 6-2, 6-0; Khaled beat Crimmel 6-2, 6-0; and Dhankhar won against Matea Andelic 6-2, 6-4. Alcorn’s Hana Bajramovic was competitive at No. 2, splitting the first two sets with Kalistratova before the match went unfinished with Kalistratova leading 2-1 in the third.
