Tickets Now Available for A Night of Champions Featuring Kim Mulkey
Tickets are now on sale for A Night of Champions, an annual event hosted by the Delta State University Department of Athletics. The event, sponsored by Cannon GMC Buick of Cleveland, is scheduled for Aug. 14 at 7 p.m. in Walter Sillers Coliseum.
Kim Mulkey, a three-time national champion and Olympic gold medalist, will be the guest of honor. Mulkey is the only person in college basketball history—men’s or women’s—to win national titles as a player, assistant coach, and head coach. She is also one of three coaches, along with Bobby Knight and Dean Smith, to win titles as both a player and a coach.
Mulkey played for Louisiana Tech’s Lady Techsters before returning as an assistant coach for 15 seasons. She later coached at Baylor University for 21 seasons, winning three national championships. In April 2021, Mulkey was named head coach at Louisiana State University. In her second season with the Tigers, she led LSU to its first NCAA women’s basketball national championship in 2023.
Event ticket options include general admission for individuals or couples, as well as reserved tables for eight. Sponsorship packages are available and include tickets, drinks, recognition, and more. All tickets and sponsorships can be purchased online. Sponsors are also invited to a pre-event reception with VIP access to Mulkey.
For additional information, contact Kel Lange, athletics development officer, at 662-846-4300 or klange@deltastate.edu. Updates about Mulkey and the event will be posted at gostatesmen.com as the event approaches.
