Southern Miss Women’s Golf Finishes Midfield at More Than Golf Invitational

The Southern Miss women’s golf team sits in sixth place after two rounds at the More Than Golf Invitational, with one round left to play. The Golden Eagles are tied for sixth among 12 teams at Old Barnwell Golf Course in Aiken, South Carolina, according to school officials.

Taylor Trible led the team with a total score of 157, shooting 79 in the first round and 78 in the second. She posted a birdie on the eighth hole and moved up 14 spots to tie for 28th place overall. Fernanda Gorostiaga also contributed, carding an eagle on the 15th hole after a birdie on the previous hole. She is tied for 28th as well, with a total of 157.

Louise Cuyvers is tied for 28th after shooting rounds of 73 and 80. Liv Romer scored an 85 in the second round, tying for 35th place overall. Savannah Van Gaalen scored a 78 and an 82 in her rounds, with back-to-back birdies on holes 15 and 16. Romer has three birdies on the day.

Teams from Tulsa and Denver are tied for first place, both surpassing Columbia, Augusta, and Richmond in the standings. Kristina Xu of Columbia, Samantha Olson of Tulsa, and Logan Hale of Denver are tied for the individual lead.

The Golden Eagles are scheduled to tee off at 8 a.m. Wednesday with a shotgun start. Fans can follow live scoring through the school’s website and social media updates from @SouthernMissWG.
