Southern Miss Women’s Basketball Hosts Texas State on Senior Day

HATTIESBURG, Miss. — Southern Miss women’s basketball hosts Texas State on Saturday at Reed Green Coliseum, marking the Lady Eagles’ final home game of the season. Tipoff is scheduled for 5 p.m., with a senior day ceremony set for 4:30 p.m., according to university athletics.

The game is part of Southern Miss’s Super Saturday, which includes baseball and men’s basketball games on Fourth Street. Fans attending the basketball game are encouraged to park accordingly, with baseball parking enforced until 2 p.m. and men’s basketball parking starting afterward. Fans attending baseball at noon can show their tickets at the coliseum’s box office to receive free admission to the doubleheader.

Southern Miss enters the game with a 12-13 overall record and a 5-8 mark in the Sun Belt Conference. The team recently lost 85-62 to ULM, with Meloney Thames leading the Lady Eagles with 18 points. Despite losing seven of their last eight games, Southern Miss remains competitive, with four active players averaging double figures.

Texas State, with an 11-13 overall and a 7-6 Sun Belt record, is currently in sixth place in the standings. The Bobcats secured a 69-63 win over South Alabama in their last outing. Head coach Zenarae Antoine is in her 15th season, boasting a school-record 225 wins. Former Lady Eagle assistant Barbara Farris is an assistant coach for Texas State.
