The University of Southern Mississippi men’s golf team is heading to Puerto Rico to compete in the Dorado Beach Collegiate on Feb. 22 at TPC Dorado Beach, according to school officials.

The Golden Eagles are among 15 teams participating in the event, which features schools such as North Carolina Greensboro, Illinois State, Georgia State, Army, Temple, George Washington, Old Dominion, Stetson, George Mason, Butler, Appalachian State, Elon, Bryant, and Providence.

The tournament begins with a shotgun start at 6:30 a.m. CST on Sunday, Feb. 22, and continues through Feb. 24. Play resumes each day at 6:30 a.m., with the final round starting at 6 a.m.

Six Golden Eagles are scheduled to compete, including Walker Wise in the individual category. The team roster features Benjamin Fernandez, Jake Moffitt, Supakorn Amornchaichan, Tommy Latter, and Matthew Javier.

Fernandez is coming off a career-best round of five-under 65 at the Hal Williams Collegiate, where he finished among the top three. The team will play on the East course at TPC Dorado Beach, which was renovated in 2011 by Robert Trent Jones Jr. The course is known for its challenging layout, strong winds, tropical landscaping, and bunkers. It hosted the 2015 PGA Tour Latinoamérica Tour Championship.
