Jackson, Miss. — Sedgwrick Pitts Jr. was named the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Track Athlete of the Week on Thursday, following his performance at the Bulldog Relays hosted by Mississippi State.
The senior from Tyler, Texas, has been dominant this season, earning his third SWAC weekly honor. Pitts Jr. finished third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 20.85 seconds in a competitive field.
The Jackson State track and field team will next compete April 3-4 at the Southern Miss Invitational. Pitts Jr. and his teammates aim to build on their recent success as the season progresses.
